Ingredients
- 500g minced chicken meat
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 1 egg white
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the minced chicken meat, minced garlic and ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, sugar, salt, and white pepper. Mix well to combine.
- In a separate small bowl, beat the egg white until it is frothy. Add it to the chicken mixture and mix well.
- Take a small amount of the mixture and shape it into a small, tongue-shaped piece. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
- Heat a pan with enough oil to deep fry the sparrow tongues. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the tongues in the pan and fry until they are golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove the tongues from the pan and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil. Serve hot as an appetizer or as a side dish.
Note
- You can also bake the tongues in the oven at 375F for 15 minutes.
- -You can also add some green onions or cilantro to the mixture for added flavour.
